Kettering Workers' Care

FAQs

Workers Compensation

If I am injured on the job, can I come directly to Kettering Workers' Care?
Yes! There is always a care provider available to see you between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. If it is not during these hours, you should go to the closest emergency room and follow up with us the next day.

What happens if I miss an injury follow-up appointment and I currently have work restrictions? Is my employer contacted?
Yes, we do contact your employer and your restrictions are then null and void. Please contact the KWC office you normally visit once you realize you have missed an appointment.

When do workers' compensation payments kick in, and where would I go to get help filing?
These questions are always best answered by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.

If  I am not feeling well at work, with something such as a sinus infection or a sports injury, should I come to Kettering Workers' Care?
If you are ill or feel like you're coming down with something, you should see your primary care physician. If you have a non-work related injury that needs to be tended to immediately, visit an Urgent Care or emergency room.

What happens if my claim is denied?
Kettering Workers' Care is much less expensive than an emergency room would be. We will also provide you with the paperwork to bill your personal health insurance.

Before you come in…

Do I need an appointment to come to Kettering Workers' Care?
No. You never have to make an appointment for an injury. However, your wait time for certain services will be much shorter if you have an appointment. If you come in for a drug screen or TB, you might not want to make an appointment. Procedures that you might prefer to make an appointment for would be lengthier ones like respirator fits or physicals. You can call any of our three offices to make an appointment.

If I'm coming in for a service that does not require an appointment, how long will my wait be?
We understand that your time, as well as your employers', is very valuable and you will be taken care of as soon as possible.

What forms of I.D. must I bring with me?
Always make sure you have a photo I.D. when coming in for any type of service.

I'm under 18 – do I need to be accompanied by a parent for a drug screen?
Yes. Even if the drug screen is ordered by an employer, you must be accompanied by a legal guardian. In this case, your parent or guardian must have a valid (government issued photo) ID. It is also suggested that you bring some form of ID, if possible.

Can I get started on some of my paperwork before I come in to the clinic?
Sure. Please visit our Forms page for available forms - click on the form that you would like and print it.

Does Kettering Workers' Care accept personal health insurance?
As an occupational health facility, we bill the BWC and accept self-pay.

If I am paying for my own TB test, physical, etc - how much will it cost?
For self-pay services, feel free to call any of our offices for a price.

For Employers…

I'm an employer looking for a clinic that offers a service not listed on your website. Does that mean you don't offer it?
Not at all. We offer such a wide variety of services that it's virtually impossible to put a comprehensive list on this website. Don't see what you're looking for? Our marketing department can answer these questions for you. Feel free to contact Brandy at bvoiles@k-wc.com or (937) 297-3471.

What if drug and/or alcohol testing is needed when your office is closed?
We also offer on-call services to all of our companies. This means that if you need testing after business hours, or even on-site during business hours, we will gladly send one of our DA TIA certified nurses to perform the testing. Please contact Brandy at (937) 297-3471 to inquire about this special service.
