For Employers…

I’m an employer looking for a clinic that offers a service not listed on your website.  Does that mean you don’t offer it?
Not at all.  We offer such a wide variety of services that it’s virtually impossible to put a comprehensive list on the website.  Don’t see what you’re looking for?  Our marketing department can answer these questions for you.  For more information on this, please contact our marketing department at (937) 293-7770.

What if drug and/or alcohol testing is needed when your office is closed?
We also offer on-call services to all of our companies.  This means that if you need testing after business hours, or even on-site during business hours, we will gladly send one of our DATIA certified nurses to perform the testing.  For more information on this, please contact our marketing department at (937) 293-7770.

Why should I screen my employees for drug & alcohol use?
A lot of employers think this isn’t necessary - especially if the employees are tenured, or they know them personally. Here are some figures* that might change your mind.

  • 75% of all illegal drug users are employed either full- or part-time. This suggest over 10 million people are current users of illicit drugs.
  • 80% of drug users steal from their workplace to support their drug use
  • 40% of industrial fatalities and 47% of all industrial injuries are due to alcohol use
  • Alcohol causes 500 million lost work days each year
  • Employees who use drugs or alcohol acquire 300% higher medical costs-drugs and alcohol depress the immune system
  • 1 in 12 full-time employees report current use of illicit drugs.

How will I know if my employee is put on work restrictions after being seen for an injury?
Kettering workers’ Care gives every injured worker two copies of their Return To Work form – one for the employee and one to take to their employer.

For Patients…

Workers' Compensation

If I am injured on the job, can I come directly to Kettering Workers’ Care?
Yes! There is always a care provider available to see you Monday through Friday between 7:30a.m. and 5p.m. If it is not during these hours, you should go to the closest Kettering Health Network emergency room and follow up with us the next day.

What happens if I miss an injury follow-up appointment and I currently have work restrictions? Is my employer contacted?
Yes, we do contact your employer and your restrictions are then null and void. Please contact the KWC office you normally visit once you realize you have missed an appointment.

When do workers’ compensation payments kick in, and where would I go to get help filing?
These questions are always best answered by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation. Please click HERE to visit their website.

If I am not feeling well at work, with something like a sinus infection or a sports injury, should I come to Kettering Workers’ Care?
If you are ill or feel like you’re coming down with something, you should see your primary care physician. If you have a non-work related injury that needs tended to immediately, visit an Urgent Care or emergency room.

Who will be responsible to pay if my workers’ comp claim is denied?
Kettering Workers’ Care is still much less expensive than an emergency room visit would be. You will need to pay, but we will gladly provide you with the paperwork to bill your personal health insurance.

Before Your Come In . . .

Do I need an appointment to come to Kettering Workers’ Care?
No. You never have to make an appointment for an injury. However, your wait time for certain services will be much shorter if you have an appointment. If you come in for a drug screen or TB test, you don’t need to make an appointment. Procedures that you need to make an appointment for would be lengthier ones, like respirator fit testing or physicals. You can call any of our three offices to make an appointment.

If I’m coming in for a service that does not require an appointment, how long will my wait be?
We understand that your time, as well as your employers’, is very valuable and you will be taken care of as soon as possible.

What forms of I.D. must I bring with me?
Always make sure you have a photo I.D. when coming in for any type of service. If you’re coming in for a drug screen, you’ll want to bring a government issued ID, such as a driver’s license.

I’m under 18 – do I need to be accompanied by a parent for a drug screen?
Yes. Even if the drug screen is ordered by an employer, you must be accompanied by a legal guardian. In this case, your parent or guardian must have a valid (government-issued photo) ID. It is also suggested that you bring some form of ID (such as a school ID or yearbook photo), if possible.

Can I get started on some of my paperwork before I come in to the clinic?
Sure. The following forms are available on our website – click on the form that you would like and print it.

Does Kettering Workers’ Care accept personal health insurance?
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to. As an occupational health facility, we bill the BWC and accept self-pay.

If I am paying for my own TB test, physical, etc – how much will it cost?
For self-pay services, feel free to call any of our offices for a price.
